Those willing to
"negotiate" for a bargain should head straight to Boston's diamond district at Downtown Crossing.
The Jeweler's Building at 333 Washington St. is home to dozens of
dealers.
One reputable jeweler
in the building is Freedman Jewelers(YP listing),
which has an informative and low pressure style.
Store employees act more as consultants than
salesfolk, providing mini-seminars on how to
buy the best diamond for your money,
ordering any color or cut you want that's not in
stock and displaying a bottomless pit of patience
when it comes to helping you try different
settings. Most importantly, prices are fantastic.
