Massachusetts Sales Tax Holiday 2013

by Josh on July 30, 2013

Massachusetts has just announced a sales tax holiday for the weekend of August 10-11th, 2013.

Freedman Jewelers will be open on Saturday August 10 from 10am-4pm.

What does this mean for you?

There will be no sales tax on any individual item $2,500 or less on August 10.   Sales tax in Massachusetts is 6.25%.  If you were to buy something that cost $2,400, it would normally cost you $2,550 with the tax, but with the holiday you will save $150.  Even on a $150 item, you would save $9.38.  That’s enough for a couple of beers or a movie ticket!  There is no limit to how many items you can buy without tax, just as long as the individual price of each item is $2,500 or less.

Can’t make it to the store on Saturday? You can come in anytime before Saturday August 10 to put items on layaway and we can run your credit credit on Saturday.  If you have any loved ones birthdays coming up or if you want to get holiday shopping done really early, this is the perfect time to do so.
